KAIST is South Korea's national research university for science and engineering, established in 1971 to advance high level research and educate scientists and entrepreneurs. The main campus sits in Daedeok Innopolis, Daejeon, with additional campuses in Munji and in Seoul for the College of Business and the Kim Jaechul Graduate School of AI. KAIST offers bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees across colleges of Natural Sciences, Engineering, Business, Liberal Arts and convergence programs, with extensive English medium instruction in graduate courses. Research institutes and centers span AI, robotics, semiconductors, bio and brain engineering, energy and sustainability, and advanced materials. The university runs industry collaboration, startup acceleration and technology transfer programs and maintains a large network of labs and dormitories on its Yuseong campus.
