Job Summary
The Preschool Teacher will provide a nurturing, safe, and stimulating learning environment for children, in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework. This role emphasizes not only early learning but also life skills, fostering independence, social-emotional growth, personal development, and the cultivation of 21st-century skills, such as 4Cs communication, collaboration, creativity, and critical thinking. The teacher will create engaging play-based lessons, collaborate with support staff, and work closely with parents to ensure the well-being and holistic development of each child.
Responsibilities
1. Teaching & Learning Environment:
· Create a warm, welcoming, and secure classroom environment that promotes curiosity, exploration, and open communication.
· Deliver age-appropriate, play-based lessons and activities in line with the EYFS framework, encouraging collaborative learning experiences.
· Deliver age-appropriate phonics, maths, projects and life skills according to KKIS educational resources and the British curriculum.
· Foster creativity and critical thinking through hands-on learning activities and problem-solving challenges.
· Incorporate outdoor learning to connect children with nature, their community, and build teamwork through group tasks.
2. Child Development & Life Skills:
· Focus on fostering life skills such as self-care, hygiene, dressing, and table manners while encouraging communication in everyday tasks.
· Develop children’s independence, confidence, and social skills, with an emphasis on collaboration and sharing through structured group activities.
· Promote healthy eating habits, oral hygiene, and environmental awareness through engaging, interactive lessons.
· Ensure inclusivity for children with diverse needs, including English Language Learners (ELL), using tailored strategies that encourage collaboration and creativity.
3. Assessment & Documentation:
· Observe and assess children’s progress in physical, emotional, cognitive, and social domain development with a focus on their ability to communicate and collaborate.
· Maintain detailed records of each child’s developmental milestones and learning progress.
· Regularly update parents through progress reports, meetings, and conferences.
· Use digital platforms like Google Drive and Google Classroom for storing and managing documentation, fostering creativity in digital learning.
4. Collaborative Practices:
· Work closely with Teaching Assistants and support staff to provide individualized attention and ensure inclusive practices that promote collaboration.
· Collaborate with other preschool teachers, and specialists to create an inclusive, creative, and critical-thinking environment.
· Actively participate in team meetings, professional development sessions, and school-wide events to refine teaching strategies that develop 21st-century skills.
5. Parent and Community Engagement:
· Regularly communicate with parents to discuss children’s progress, achievements, and the development of their communication skills.
· Organize and participate in parent-teacher meetings, workshops, and school events, fostering community collaboration and involvement.
· Integrate local cultural elements into the curriculum, strengthening ties with the community while promoting creativity and respect for diverse ideas.
6. Additional Duties:
· Follow KKIS policies on safeguarding, health and safety, and child protection.
· Assist in classroom preparation, maintenance and organizing resources and materials.
· Participate in extracurricular activities, school trips, and special events to further develop students' communication, creativity, and collaborative skills.
Education and Experience
· Education: Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.
· Experience: Minimum of 2 years’ experience in early childhood education or care.
· Skills:
o Strong understanding of EYFS framework and early childhood development.
o Excellent communication, patience, and interpersonal skills.
o Ability to work effectively in a multicultural and cross-cultural environment.
· Compliance:
o Police background check from the candidate’s home country.
o Submission of two references from former employers or character referees.
Salary and Benefits
· Salary: 35K based on qualifications and experience, in line with KKIS Staff Policy.
· Additional Benefits:
o Non-B Visa and Work Permit.
o 12-month salary with 5K housing allowance and Provident Fund.

o Full contract with a 3-month probationary period.
