Maynooth International Engineering College (MIEC) is the joint college of Maynooth University, Ireland, and Fuzhou University, China, and the first approved international cooperative education institution in Fujian province. Located on Fuzhou University’s Qishan campus, MIEC runs a 4+0 model in which students complete all four undergraduate years in Fuzhou while being dually registered with both universities and, upon meeting academic requirements, receive bachelor degrees from Fuzhou University and Maynooth University. The college recruits about 300 students annually into four programs that include Automation, Software Engineering, Digital Media Technology and Electronic Information Engineering, taught with curricula, textbooks and academic input from Maynooth alongside Fuzhou’s faculty.
