About the role

  • Teach EAP at Maynooth International Engineering College (MIEC) on the Fuzhou University campus.
  • Max 21 teaching hours/week (45-minute classes); government and university holidays observed and fully paid.
  • 2–3 year contract starting February 2026.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare engaging lessons; maintain records and assess student progress.
  • Mark formative and summative assessments; provide feedback.
  • Support students via consultations/tutorials; populate MU virtual learning platforms.
  • Collaborate with colleagues; attend mandatory meetings/trainings; invigilate exams; other reasonable duties.

Schedule

  • Mon–Fri; fully paid winter and summer breaks per university schedule.

Benefits

  • Salary: 18,000–21,000 CNY/month (before tax).
  • Housing allowance: 1,500 CNY/month.
  • Insurance provided.
  • Flights: two sets of airline tickets to/from Fuzhou per academic year.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree; TESOL or CELTA required.
  • Minimum 2 years’ university-level teaching experience.
  • Competency with MS Teams/Moodle/Office 365; eligibility for a Chinese work visa.
  • Applicants must be citizens of a native English-speaking country or hold a degree from a university in a native English-speaking country.
